Discover the Biblical Cities of Ancient Asia Minor Through History, Archaeology and Faith
Tour Overview
Walk through the landscapes where some of Christianity's earliest communities lived, worshipped and faced the challenges of the Roman world.
This five-day private journey takes you through the Seven Churches of Revelation — Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea — the seven ancient communities addressed in the opening chapters of the Book of Revelation.
Rather than simply travelling between archaeological sites, you will discover the historical character of each city, its place in the Roman province of Asia and the circumstances that shaped its early Christian community.
Your journey begins in Ephesus, where the ministry of the Apostle Paul and the traditions associated with John form an important part of the city's Christian heritage. From there, continue north to Smyrna and Pergamon before following the ancient routes through Thyatira, Sardis and Philadelphia towards Laodicea.
The experience also includes Hierapolis, where the remains of a remarkable ancient city preserve important evidence of early Christian life and later Byzantine traditions.
Accompanied by a professional licensed guide and travelling in a comfortable private vehicle, you will explore these destinations at a thoughtfully organised pace, with four nights of accommodation along the route.
A journey through seven ancient cities, seven biblical messages and the enduring heritage of early Christianity.
