Continue with an optional visit to the remains of the Temple of Artemis, once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Accompanied by your licensed professional guide and travelling in a comfortable private vehicle, enjoy a personalised introduction to Ephesus with flexible sightseeing arrangements and convenient return transportation to your cruise ship.

Meet your licensed professional tour guide and private driver before departing towards Selcuk and the ancient city of Ephesus.
Travel comfortably through the landscapes of the Aegean region in your private air-conditioned vehicle.
The drive normally takes approximately 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic and local conditions.
Before arriving at the archaeological site, your guide will discuss your preferred walking pace, any mobility considerations and the most suitable sightseeing arrangements for your group.
Your itinerary will be planned according to your cruise ship's arrival and departure times.
Ancient Ephesus – A Gentle Introduction to an Extraordinary City
Begin your exploration of ancient Ephesus, one of the best-preserved classical cities in the eastern Mediterranean.
Originally developed as an important Greek settlement and later transformed into a flourishing Roman metropolis, Ephesus became renowned for its monumental architecture, commercial activity and religious significance.
At its height, the city attracted merchants, travellers, administrators and pilgrims from across the ancient world.
Its surviving monuments provide a remarkable insight into urban life during the Roman imperial period.
For this excursion, your guide will generally arrange access through the Lower Gate area, avoiding the need to follow the entire traditional route through the archaeological site.
The exact walking route will depend on current site access, ground conditions and your group's preferences.
Great Theatre – The Monumental Heart of Ancient Ephesus
Discover the impressive Great Theatre, one of the most remarkable surviving monuments of Ephesus.
Originally developed during the Hellenistic period and substantially enlarged under Roman rule, this enormous theatre could accommodate approximately 25,000 spectators.
Its semicircular seating rises dramatically against the hillside, demonstrating the extraordinary engineering and architectural achievements of the ancient world.
The theatre hosted dramatic performances, public gatherings and other important events in the social life of Ephesus.
Your guide will explain its historical development and its association with the city's cultural and religious history.
For guests preferring limited walking, the visit will focus on suitable lower viewing areas rather than climbing the ancient seating.
The Great Theatre also offers memorable opportunities to photograph one of the most recognisable landmarks of Ephesus.
Harbour Street – The Gateway to the Ancient Mediterranean
Continue towards the historical surroundings of Harbour Street, also known as the Arcadian Way.
This impressive avenue once connected the Great Theatre area with the ancient harbour, which played a vital role in the city's commercial prosperity.
During the Roman period, Ephesus was an important trading centre linking maritime routes with the interior regions of Anatolia.
Merchants, officials and travellers arriving by sea passed through this monumental urban environment.
Learn how the harbour contributed to the wealth of Ephesus and how gradual sedimentation eventually transformed the relationship between the city and the coastline.
Your guide will introduce the surviving architectural features and explain the importance of the street within the ancient urban landscape.
The visit will be adjusted according to the walking comfort of your group and the accessible areas available on the day.
Library of Celsus – Optional Extended Walking Experience
For guests who are comfortable walking farther, the excursion may continue towards the magnificent Library of Celsus.
Constructed during the Roman imperial period in honour of Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, the library became one of the most celebrated monuments of ancient Ephesus.
Its extraordinary marble façade, elaborate architectural decoration and elegant columns reflect the wealth and cultural sophistication of the Roman city.
The building originally served as both a library and a monumental memorial.
Today, its reconstructed façade remains one of the most photographed archaeological landmarks in Türkiye.
Your professional guide will explain the monument's architectural features, historical significance and connection with Roman intellectual life.
Important: Reaching the Library of Celsus from the Lower Gate area requires additional walking over uneven ancient paving. This section is optional and is not guaranteed as part of the shortest walking route.
Guests who prefer a shorter visit may omit this section.
Temple of Artemis – One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
After your visit to Ephesus, continue by private vehicle towards the remains of the Temple of Artemis, subject to available time and local conditions.
Once regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this magnificent sanctuary was dedicated to Artemis, an important goddess worshipped in the ancient Greek world.
The temple became a major religious and cultural centre, attracting pilgrims and visitors from across the Mediterranean.
Although only limited architectural remains survive today, the location provides an important connection to the earlier religious history of Ephesus.
Your guide will explain the remarkable scale of the original sanctuary and the historical importance of the cult of Artemis.
Enjoy a short photographic stop before continuing your return journey.
